17 Weeks

Written by Shannon Leigh
Matt and I are officially on vacation for TWO whole WEEKS!  I love that our wedding anniversary happens to land in the fall.  Hmm it's like I planned it that way or something.

We leave tomorrow for our anniversary trip that we are lovingly calling our babymoon.  I can't even tell you the excitement that is floating around our house.  Lot's of packing and charging of batteries.  We are going to be hitting London totally prepared.

Anyway, this week Peanut and I are 17 weeks along.  I cannot believe how fast it's going and how much Peanut is growing.  I had a appointment last Thursday and I got to hear the baby's heartbeat again.  It was a little difficult for my doctor to find it... seeing as every time she got near the little guy with the doppler he'd swim to the other side of my womb.  It took us 10 minutes JUST to get a good listen.  The doctor keep laughing at us.  I am not surprised at all that we have an active baby.  I am feeling movements a little bit more regularly now.
Maternity clothes still are fitting right but I definitely feel like I am looking pretty pregnant now.
Matt and I plan to stay up all night so we can sleep on the plane tomorrow.
We are praying everything goes well so we have a jet-lag free first day in England.

Week 16

This past week, Peanut was an avocado!
According to Babycenter.com
"the baby is 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces.  His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head.  His ears are close to their final position, too."
YEY, peanut is looking more and more human and less alien like.
I have my "16 week" appointment tomorrow even though I'll be 17 weeks.  This one isn't anything major, just a check up to make sure things are going ok.  We opted out of all of the tests that could be run so I'm thinking this appointment will be pretty short.
I don't get another sono until 20 weeks.  They will be able to tell the sex by then as well as other developmental milestones.  I am pretty pumped about that one and yes, I'm still leaning towards boy.
Still not in maternity clothes.  I tried on a few pairs of pants out of my hand-me-down stash and they fell down as soon as I pulled them up so I guess I'm just going to have to use the bellaband and rubberband trick until maternity pants fit.  God knows that the top button on most of my pants won't come close to buttoning.

Week 15

Written by Shannon Leigh
Peanut and I have made it to the 15 week mark and we feel great.  He is now the size of a large red apple and I'm pretty sure I am feeling him move every once in awhile.  Pretty crazy how big he is getting.
I'm still not in maternity clothes but Matt told me today that I definitely look like I have a beer belly.  SWEET.  Just what I want to hear.  Oh the things we do as mothers. (Man that still sounds so strange).
At this point I feel pretty much OVER the nausea part of the pregnancy.  Thank the good Lord.  I am still sleeping on my stomach which I am trying to extend as long as I can and I am having very strange dreams which has lead, on occasion, to me waking up very confused.

I am at the 4 month mark in a couple of days and the reality that a little one will be here in a few short months is still not setting in.  My parents brought our crib that my mom found at an antique store and we put it together on Saturday.  It still needs to be painted, but the color won't be determined until we know the sex and the fabric for the bedding.  Every time I walk by it I say a little prayer for my little Peanut.  For some reason a physical reminder makes all the difference.

It was very eventful weekend and I am very sad to see it end.  I enjoyed spending time with my Matty and we have most of our anniversary trip planned (good thing since it' only 2 weeks away).  At least this week will be short.
Hopefully your weekend was as good as mine!
Happy Labor Day.

We like to eat tacos... outside

The weather has just been TOO nice to eat inside.
This has become our evening ritual.
Not the tacos, the eating outside part.
Enjoy the Fall-like weather.
I know I have been... note the scarf.

A Camping We Will Go

Written by Shannon Leigh

I'm going camping, yes sirree!
I'm going camping, won't you come with me?
First we'll pitch our tent on the ground,
Then make a fire as we all gather round.
I'm going camping, yes sirree!
I'm going camping, won't you come with me?

Next we'll cook on the open fire,
Then till stories till we all get tired.
When the stars are twinkling bright,
We'll sleep in our tents 'til the morning light.
I'm going camping, yes sirree!
I'm going camping, won't you come with me?

When we see the morning sun,
We'll wake right up 'cause the day's begun.
There's so much that we can do --
Fishing, swimming, hiking, too.
I'm going camping, yes sirree!
I'm going camping, won't you come with me?

I'm Sure Peanut Will Agree

Written by Shannon Leigh

Now that peanut is taking up permanent residence (well it feels permanent) in my tummy, I have started browsing baby stuff... and oh boy... I'm in trouble.
There is such cute stuff out there.
See for yourself.

Wooden wobble tower via Twine

Sweet crib shoes via The Baby Gardener

Wheely Bug via All Modern Baby
Can't wait to start making this little guy stuff. Now that I'm feeling better, I feel some projects coming on.
