Ruby's First Swim

A couple of weeks ago Ruby and I went to my in-laws for a visit. It was was my soon-to-be sister-in-law's bridal shower so we decided to make a weekend of it. Unfortunately Matty couldn't come because of work... so I had to document Ruby's first dip in the pool. Daddy really missed out.
She was pretty unimpressed by the whole adventure. She really didn't make a peep.
Don't worry, Grandpa didn't really jump in with baby Ruby.
After she got out she was cold... and cranky. Grandma Jo put an end to that.
She really enjoyed sitting outside on the patio. Especially with Uncle Josh.

This is my sister. She is 8 months pregnant with baby boy #3! Yep, that's 3 little boys... under the age of 3. Isn't she insane?
Insane and cute.
We had about 10 minutes to do a "belly" shoot while she came to visit. This is what we got.
I can't wait to meet baby "no-name." Betcha his name will start with a K.

There are SOOOOOOOOO many things I LOVE about this picture. I don't even know where to begin.
1. The priceless-mischievous look on Keagan's face. What a little stinker!
2. I love that Keagan is in focus and Brooke and Kellen aren't.
3. I LOVE the fact that Keagan's legs are chubbier than Kellens, who happens to be 2 & 1/2 years older.
4. I adore the band aids and bruises on Kellen's knee. Oh to be 3.
5. I love that Brooke and Kellen look identical and they are making the same face.
6. I love the row of bottom teeth that Keagan is sporting. ADORABLE.
7. I love the googly eyes on Kellens tshirt.
8. I love that my sister is 8 months pregnant and you can't tell a bit.
9. I just plain love these 3... plus baby boy # 3 in her belly. (& of course Karsten).
We had like 10 minutes to shoot some maternity pictures last week and I'm just now starting to go through them.

I Have a 3 Month Old?

Is it really true? Was it really 3 months ago today that you made me a mommy?
It seems like just yesterday. But at the same time I feel like you've always been here.
Like I've always known you. I think maybe I have.
You make me the happiest woman on the earth.
Some things about Ruby:
- You laugh and laugh and laugh when you're in a good mood and we eat it up.
- When you are fussing in your crib and we come to get you you give us the BIGGEST smiles. It melts our hearts.
- You LOVE looking at yourself in the mirror. You smile and coo at yourself. Whenever you are fussy we take you to the mirror and you calm down.
- You LOVE to be outside too. I think you like to take in all of the new sights and sounds.
- I think you hate walmart as much as I do.
- you love tummy time and prop yourself up and look around.
- You are a great eater and are growing so fast. I am curious to see how much you weigh (last time we checked at the breast feeding clinic, you were 10 pounds 8 ounces).
- Your legs are crazy skinny and leg warmers don't fit- they generally slip right off.
- Your eyes are still grayish and I really can't decide what color they are going to be. Only time will tell I suppose.
- You have started snuggling your head into my neck and I love it.
- You still love bath time.
- You sleep great.
- Sometimes I can't wait to get you down for your nap, but then I miss you once you are asleep.
oh Ruby you bring us so much joy!
