Week 27

So Peanut and I have officially made it through the 2nd trimester and hopefully it's smooth sailing from here on out.

Last week, Peanut was 2 pounds and 14 1/2 inches long! Each week she is gaining strength and if she were to be born now, her chances of survival are getting better.

Time is really flying these days and I'm still feeling good at this point. Bending over to put socks on is rather hard, but not unbearable. My ab muscles seem to complain the most. I don't think they like being stretched in such a way.

Peanut is really making herself comfortable in my belly, usually making me especially UNconfortable. She has officially found my bladder and thinks it's really fun to sucker punch it.

I personally find it rude, but at least I know she's healthy and active.

I have my 28 week appointment on Monday and I'll have appointments every 2 weeks from here on out. I can't believe we are getting this close and we still have a LOT of work to do before she makes her grand appearance. Let's hope the next 12 weeks are rather uneventful.

A Date With Mr. Anderson

How lucky am I?

Matt and I went to the Champaign/Urbana Festival of Trees for a little date...

These were some of my favorite trees (I'm not going to lie, this little festival paled in comparison to the one in Springfield).

We then ventured to Merry Ann's for some hot cocoa.
Of course Matt's became a chocolate shake instead.

Overall... a very nice night.
Thanks for the date, Mr. Anderson.

Just Because She's REALLY Cute.

Dear Izzy,

Thank you so much for being such a trooper over Thanksgiving.

You were carted to both of our parent's houses,
barricaded in basements,
forced to wear doggie boots,
and then harassed (lovingly) by a 16 month old girl.

Although you were occasionally naughty (especially that time you ate all of the left overs off of the counter), your behavior has improved.
You look stunning in your pink snuggie.

We know you aren't perfect but your fur is
ohhh sooooo soft.

I am thankful.

Week 26

Last week was week 26. Peanut was 14 inches long and at this point all four of her senses are developed. Not only can she hear me talking but she can hear what's going on around me. Maybe I should start playing classical music or something.

This was the first week that I felt the baby have hiccups. It was super cute at first but then the repetitiveness of it started to kind of annoy me. I 'm pretty sure that she doesn't enjoy them either. She seems to get extra squirmy when they start up.

It seems to be flying now (not sure if I should be excited or scared). I'm looking forward to the rest of the week off with the Thanksgiving holiday. I've decided that sitting up at my desk is pretty uncomfortable and it's only going to get worse. I still can't complain too much, I'm feeling great! Let's hope week 27 is just as good!

Week 25

Last week Peanut and I were 25 weeks.

She was 13 1/2 inches long (the size of a very large cucumber) and she weighed about 1 1/2 pounds. I chose NOT to photograph myself with a very large cucumber... it just looked... awkward.

Anyway, she is fully formed at this point and gaining some baby fat. If she has hair, it is continuing to grow and you would be able to see the color and texture.

Moving around is getting a little more difficult, especially bending over and getting out of bed. I can't complain too much because I still feel great.

She has officially found my bottom ribs and I feel pretty good jabs when I lay down.

Still feeling great and getting super excited about meeting this little cucumber, only 14 weeks to go:)

A Movie about Love (& London)

We are very thankful to Matt's parents for letting us borrow their video camera for our trip.

Try not to pay attention to the shaky camera and Matt's constant zooming. Cut us some slack, we aren't professional videographers:)
