Week 19 (a week late)

Last week our little Peanut weighed about 8 1/2 ounces and measured 6 inches, head to bottom.  The way we are figuring it... the baby's legs are about that length too... so that means we have a baby that is a FOOT long.  Just a guess.   

It sure FEELS like this little boy/girl is that big.  It's REALLY starting to kick, especially when I sit at my desk at work.

The Holiday, Day 4

One of the things I just HAD to do when we knew we were going to London was visit Portobello Road.  If you haven't seen Bedknobs and Broomsticks go rent it now!  In this movie, one of my favorite musical numbers EVER takes place at the Portobello Road Market.

The number goes a little something like this...

"Portobello road, Portobello road
Street where the riches of ages are stowed.
Anything and everything a chap can unload
Is sold off the barrow in Portobello road.
You’ll find what you want in the Portobello road."

I found myself an antique teacup at the market as well as some scarves and other goodies...

It was like my dream come true.

There were TONS of food stands up too, which I don't think I was expecting.  The smell was delightful!  YUM...

We Stopped off at King's Cross Station to see Platform 9 3/4s...  I was sooo excited!

We then went on a tour to Stonehenge and we had a blast!  

It's kind of funny that millions of people go and visit a pile of rocks every year, especially when no one has any idea what their purpose was...

It's crazy to think that these rocks were already ancient when the Romans settled there almost 1,000 years ago! 

They are definitely interesting and mystifying.

The Holiday, Day 3

We headed to Bath on day 3.

We started our adventure at Paddington Station, the station made famous by Paddington Bear. 

I LOVED Paddington when I was little so I got Peanut an authentic Paddington teddy bear at the station! 

When we got to Bath we started by visiting the Jane Austen Center... I learned a lot about Jane that I didn't know and I am sure Matt really enjoyed it too:).

We visited the Pump Room and the stunning Roman Baths

We admired Bath Abbey and all of the beautiful architecture made of Bath stone (it's still a requirement to this day that they use the same Bath stone).

We saw the Royal Crescent in all of it's grandeur.

We went on a tour throughout the town and learned all kinds of fun facts...

We had afternoon tea at Sally Lunn's, which is the oldest house in Bath.  It dates back as far as 1482.  However it has been functioning as a restaurant since 1680!

The tea (or in Matt's case, the hot chocolate) was to die for.

The BUNS were especially delicious.   The recipe is over 400 years old!

I even got to see Jane's HOUSE! As you can tell I am super excited.

We admired the Pulteney Bridge (there are only 3 like it in the world).  It has tiny little shops on the top of it. 

Over all I LOVED Bath.  It was by FAR one of my favorite things we did. 

It is SUCH a beautiful village... I absolutely adored it.  

 I made Matt promise that if we become rich and famous someday, we'll buy a house in Bath and be neighbors with Gwyneth Paltrow (who owns a home in Bath).
